Recently I checked the mechanical strength of raw material (En 9 , BS 970)used for a threaded stud. Requirements(specs.) are as follows: UTS(mini.)67 KG/SQ.MM,%ELONGATION IS MINIMUM 12%.
But I got the actual values UTS 107 KG/SQ.MM AND %ELONGATION is 24%.
That is the actual values are very much above the requirements. Is it a better results for the purpose of a clamping stud or not?
