National Instruments Corp. recently alerted me to their How-to Guide for Most Measurements. They cover the most common measurement functions of temperature (for thermocouple, thermistor, and RTD), voltage, current, strain, pressure or load, frequency, sound and vibration, and motion or position using quadrature encoders.
